Using Spotify's "Radio" feature as well as a few "mix" (they're not really mixes, as much as collections) stations on YouTube, I've stumbled into an interesting genre.

Chill Synthwave or Chillwave.

Some examples and links should you decide to dive into it:

Emil Rottmayer - Farout (1m or so intro)

Xtract - AT Day 2016 - (For some reason this one really hooked me at 45 sec or so when the "Speak N Spell" says GO.)

"Astral Throb" has some pretty good Chill Synthwave collections:

"Odysseus" is another channel with decent Synthwave stuff:

I know lots of you guys are into classic rock and some incredible stuff; but, there's a small contingency of us that hail from a bit later in the 20th century, and I just get weak-kneed over a meaty synth. Big Grin Enjoy. (Or not, but hopefully my thread titles are clear enough.)

I discovered this music about a year ago thru my kid. It is really good stuff. I usually put it on and zone out.

Try this guy for more mixes:

Most of the music on these channels is first released thru this guy. He has made it his mission to get these artists out there and spends a lot of time getting the word out.

I'm also into none main stream music. A lot of the music I listen to falls into the electronic category. Why are they considered electronic and how are songs distilled down into even deeper genres? I don't know, but I know I like the songs. A lot of them have haunting vocals as well and I like that.

Illenium - Only One featuring Nina Sung

This next one starts off coming from what seems like a very happy place, but when you finally get to the lyrical part she sings of the adventures she used to have with a friend that she's lost.

ThFatRat - Monody featuring Laura Brehm

I like this next one because the noted seem wrong like the music itself was recorded and then played backwards almost. It just sounds interesting to me.
