Looks good to me, I am always ready for more dino action.

Looks like a remake of The Lost World movie. Or just a different sort of adaption of The Lost World novel.

Well, watching the trailer it seems they are going to Isla Sorna (the island from the 2nd and 3rd original movies), and are trying to get DNA from 3 different dinos for some kind of revolutionary medical breakthrough. They are putting a team together. Got a butch woman (is that Scarlett Johansen?), a nerdy scientist, a shady black market smuggler, etc etc.

Small team inserts on dino island, chaos ensues. I'm guessing everything goes well at first, but then something weird happens, somebody betrays them or has ulterior motives, and it all goes from 'let's get these samples' to 'holy crap let's not die.'It's a 'been there/done that' plot, but it does look kinda good.

I just hope it isn't too wokey.

I'd like to see an adaptation of Crichton's Airframe, but that might seem too much like an M. Night Shyamalan movie.

The Michael Crichton book Prey would make a damn good movie if done right.

That's a solid distillation of how every one of them goes, and yes, it's Scarlett Johansson. Razz

********Bumping an old thread*********
Finally was released and I had to go see it because Jurassic Park is one of my favorites and I have enjoyed the whole series.
Paid a couple extra bucks to watch it on the bigger SLX screen and upgraded Dolby Super Special audio. I think it was worth it as the sound and video was great.

It was good not great but I certainly enjoyed it and glad we saw it in the theater. No wokeness which is really nice.
Thought they were going there at one point talking about human climate change, but then went on to say that humans really have no impact and the earth will regulate as it needs and we aren’t actually in control.

Hound Dog’s assessment is close except the black market smuggler is not really shady at all he is actually a good dude.

There were a lot of throwback/homages to the original which was nice and it used quite a bit of the original score which is part of what makes the original great.

**************SPOILERS BELOW*********************

The movie was good but could have been great if they kept on track of the originals story line. That life will find a way. Which I thought they were going to do with a couple of the build up scenes.

I thought for sure that the original Dinosaurs species were going to come in the end and save the day against the man made/messed up Mutant species. Which if they did this the movie would have been GREAT if not the 2nd best of the series.

The reasons I thought this because when they are packing up the museum in the beginning and the banner is being dropped it comes down very similarly to how the banner drops at the end of Jurassic Park after the T Rex saves them from the Raptors.
So I thought for sure they were foreshadowing the T Rex coming in and saving the day at some point.

Then after they got the first sample from the sea dinosaur (I am not even going to try to type the names) and they were headed to shore the new scientist was fascinated how the sea dinosaurs and the amphibious dinosaurs had created a symbiotic relationship where they hunt together.

Then we finally made it to the compound the lights/power came on and we were introduced to the nasty mutant/human mess up dinos.

I thought for sure that life was going to find a way and the original (non mutant species) would have created some sort of symbiotic relationship and come in killing the mutants saving what humans were left and giving a REBIRTH to the island with just the normal non mutant Dinos.

Tossing the sail boat family in the mix I guess was just to add a little side story line and add a little more time/scenes to the movie.

The original movie was good - great concept type film. Everything after is so unoriginal IMHO. Let's see...Dino DNA or equivalent for good cause...things go haywire....Dino's run amuck...people die. Did I capture everything?

Hey, I like dinosaurs too, but cranking out the same movie over & over? I'm waiting for Jurassic Universe where astronauts go to Mars and find dinosaurs there.

Yet, still better than 99% of the crap coming out of Hollywood over the last 10-15 years.

As long as Chris Pratt isn’t in it, it might be worthwhile.

No doubt. I just prefer original or unique storylines. Sequels are very, very rarely on my watch list as 99.9% of them are worse than the original (Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Khan and Top Gun Maverick being two exceptions).

I saw it yesterday. It has alot of problems and the characters dont act like most of us probably would but I actually didnt hate it. Some obvious CG, dumb character choices and sterotypes but overall I'm not mad I saw it and the kids loved it.

They're doing a One Day Only release in IMAX.
