Get Off My Lawn |
I enjoyed The Matrix when it came out, but the acting in general was not good (Hugo Weaving was one of the exceptions). Terminator 2 is a classic, but has horrible acting by Edward Furlong and others. One movie that was not super horrible, but has a poor reputation is Godfather III. To me, it could have been a classic film if not for the terrible acting and poor casting decisions. Sophia Coppola Andy Garcia, and Talia Shire were awful. Diane Keaton, Eli Wallach, and to a certain extent Pacino, basically phoned it in. Poor acting was the number one issue with this film. I, and the movie, are now so old it can be considered classic: Scent Of A Woman Why anyone says Pacino was great is beyond me. The scene where he holds the gun on Chris O'Donnell's character is an outrageous example of his over acting in the role. He purposely turns his face and eyes away from "Charlie" despite the fact he is holding onto him, and has a good enough sense of where "Charlie's" face is to hold a.fun to his head. That's not how any blind person I've ever interacted with, especially those not born blind, behave. They tend to face the people they are talking to, usually based on the sound of the person's voice. Certainly if talking with the person, and physically holding them down, with a gun to their head, they would not turn their heads away in the exaggerated way Pacino did.
