In one of the Star Wars threads someone mentioned “4K77” and I had never heard of it. I checked it out and I’m glad I did. I have the original Star Wars from the second disc of the 2006 DVD set. 4K77 blows it away. There simply is no comparison. I just finished watching 4K77 this afternoon and I was returned to the summer of ’77 and I was eleven again. It’s that good.
For those unaware, like I was, 4K77 is a project by Star Wars fans to restore an original 1977 35mm print of the movie. They have done an incredible job. If you would like to watch Star Wars like it originally was in the theaters in 1977, this is probably as close as you will ever get.

an example of the differences.

Mistake not my current state of joshing gentle peevishness for the awesome and terrible majesty of the towering seas of ire that are themselves the milquetoast shallows fringing my vast oceans of wrath.
