During the two day Sheep Dog Seminar I went to it was pointed out that Golf is a waste of a good opportunity to go to the gun range and train.

Back in the 90s, I felt the same. I quit golfing because I figured the time and money that I was spending on it could be better spent on shooting (training, practice, gear, etc...)

Over the last couple of years, my shooting has slowed down (down to only 2 times/month range trips now). Last year, I decided to get back into golf after 16-17 years of not touching a club. Have been going to the driving range 2x a week and played 11 rounds of 9 holes over the summer and fall. The best part, I find it really therapeutic to wack balls at the driving range (used to feel that way at the shooting range, but that has diminished for me over the years.)

Heading out to the driving range in a couple of hours.

You've got to have a stiff shaft and dimpled balls to play golf.

Many poo-poo the game of golf. It's definitely not a contact sport like football. Amateurs can play the game while drinking beer and driving around in a golf cart. There are some pretty cute golf cart girls serving drinks on the course.....

But for those gifted with the skill and the determination to excel, a person can make a good living playing the game. Big tournament winners regularly receive over $1 million. Women's prize money is getting up there, too. Not a bad deal for one week's work. If a professional player's body holds up, they can play at a competitive level for decades.

Case in point, Bernhard Langer is in his mid-60s. So he now plays the senior PGA tour, and has done so for 15-ish years. I saw where he has earned $40 million over the 15-ish years on the senior tour, evidently even more than he earned on the regular PGA tour.

Teach your kids to play golf, then write a life-long contract that you get a percentage of their earnings.

Why is it spelled GOLF?

Because all the other 4 letter words were already taken.

Golf course; the ruin of a really great shooting range.

Try "John Wayne was a fag." from Repo Man. Or don't.
