I think Conlan Carter who played the second "Doc" and the fellow who played Pvt. Nelson are pretty close to being the last surviving cast members.

I was and am still a huge Combat fan.
Not crazy of the color episodes as this was a time of transition from B&W to Color, the originals were awesome and allowed me to play "WAR" as a kid much better.

One of my cable channels reruns Combat! And the episodes still hold up well. That said, I would not want Sgt. Saunders leading my squad. A lot of shit happened to him, nearly every week or so!

I have seasons 1 and 3 on DVD. Yep, it seemed like SGT. Saunders or 2nd Lt. Hanley were getting wounded every other episode. It's like that platoon/squad were constantly getting the hard jobs.

Probably because they got them done.

Yep, that was one of our family favorites. Also, The Rat Patrol.

Really liked it when out of school in the summer and I could stay up to watch Elliott Ness and the Untouchables.

We used to have two Thompsons in the Chicago Police armory. They let me shoot them on occasion. I once tried shooting it from the hip like Sgt. Saunders did. Couldn't hit the broadside of a barn.
