Going to watch the last episode tonight. I’ve enjoyed it and thought it was well done. It really does bring home just how perilous those missions were. I’ve talked to some WW2 pilots and they echoed just how insane it was. Really makes you feel like it would have been far better to be a grunt all things considered.

My Uncle Marshall completed his 25 missions as a tail gunner in the B-24 "Ole Irish". They flew out of Libya and then England. He had some pretty interesting stories.

I was lucky enough to talk to a P51 pilot many many years ago and what struck me the most was when he said most folks don’t grasp just what the P51 was. It was the F15 of the day and a game changer and we were just kids behind the controls.
