The movie Casablanca was released nationally 77 years ago yesterday. It is my favorite movie and a classic according to many.

Watched it yesterday.

Can't think of anything that comes close to being that good.

I agree with all the posters. The lighting and cinematography of the night time scenes, the light and shadows in black and white, is amazing.

One of the best scenes from one of the best movies ever, Madeleine Lebeau covered her part 100%...I still tear up when I watch it...they don’t make movies such as this in our day and time Frown...a great cast and well directed Smile

Fantastic film. Great story. The thing that gets me about Casablanca is the "buddy" chemistry between Bogart and Claude Rains. Rick gave up the girl but gained a friend for life with Louie. Rains had the films best comedic and cutting sarcasm lines.

Rick and Louie walking off into the fog at the end, is considered THE best ending ever by many film critics.

I got to see it on the big screen about three years ago. There was a saying "You will marry who you see Casablanca with" (at the theatre). I did...

Conflicted hero; beautiful woman; ultimate “bad guys”; cast of colorful supporting characters; memorable dialogue lines; redemption of human condition.

Absolutely the best film ever made; and would be unable to be remade today.

FYI: Conrad “Major Strasser” Veidt was born on January 22, 1893, and died of heart attack on April 3, 1943.

My favorite movie by far. The true definition of “classic.” I never miss a chance to watch it when it’s on, and watch the dvd a few times a year as well. I never get tired of it.

You’re right. Play it again Sam isn’t a line in the movie. Ilsa says Play it, Sam. Play 'As Time Goes By‘.

I hadn't given those things much thought but now that you mention it.

You're right!

A fantastic film, a great plot, terrific actors...just wonderful.
