One of my favorites. Seeing yet another performance I had never seen, in the recent Roy Clark thread, it brought to mind some of my favorites. This tune is usually not allowed in old time fiddle contests because it uses Hokum, or Shuffle bowing, but in the hands of the right artist can show off some real technical skills. The old guard, Vassar Clements, who improvises a good bit, 1980: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FZeSTRcDXbI And the newer generation, Mark O'Connor, playing with the Boston Pops Orchestra, 1992. This is joined in the middle of his performance for the Orange Blossom Special. Just prior, on the same video, he had played Sweet Georgia Brown and Amazing Grace. https://youtu.be/pvwfKbqcraQ?t=305

Roy Clark on the fiddle, which just proves what someone observed in the other thread (the Roy Clark thread), that he can play anything with a string.

“The Orange Blossom Special”. Despite the clowning, this clip is quite entertaining. And the audio quality is very good. https://youtu.be/eCAFfX_va_I But it doesn’t evoke the sound of the train whistle as well as this one (at the beginning): https://youtu.be/_ICDIb9b4Kw Serious about crackers

Of all the selections listed I like that one the best. Those kids are DANG talented! Be careful when following the masses. Sometimes the M is silent.
