The iconic Pink Floyd album was released 50 years ago. Still love it.

Just learned Roger revisited it and released his anniversary version of the album couple of days ago. Haven’t got my hands on it but reviews aren’t good by a long shot.

Used to like Roger solo career at the beginning but then his politics got into it. Still consider The Wall as the Brandenburg Concertos of my life, can’t get enough of that album but the man has spiraled downward ever since.

Will report as soon as i can lusten to The Dark Side of the Moon Redux, Roger’s 2023 album.

First impression: Roger, you shouldn´t have bothered.

It´s all kinds of Meh! Can´t tell how many versions and Tributes I have of the original album in a variety of musical styles. This one doesn´t do anything to distinguish itself from the middle of the pack other than have Roger´s name on it.

It`s as laid back as it can be. Lots of storytelling that doesn´t really help.

Will have to listen to it a few more times but now I´ve found another PF album to listen to "The End of Animals -1977". Saw them live in Antwerpen back in Feb. 1977.

Grew up on the Stones, Who, Pink Floyd, prefer to keep the songs as I remember growing up and in concert in the 70's....

And I am not frightened of dying
Any time will do, I don't mind
Why should I be frightened of dying?
There's no reason for it, you've gotta go sometime

I never said I was afraid of dying

See yours and raise you Billy Sherwood and an incredible roster of musicians. Those you grew up listening to.

Apologies, not smart enough to embed.

Please look at the bands he put together.

Nicky, I'm with HRK preferring to stay with the original.

Wore out an earlier copy and have this pristine EMI-Harvest SHVL 804 dual LP release in my library. Big Grin

There’s ABSOLUTELY no arguing with HRK! Nothing beats the original. Musically, historically, sentimentally, you name it….

Remember visiting an avant-garde exhibit in BA. First exposure to PF included black light, neons and psychedelic paintings. Mind blowing and Unforgettable.

Lot of David Gilmour redo’s of these classics on YouTube that are great.
Meanwhile Rodger’s gone off the deep end.

Total Pink Floyd fan here. Years ago I stumbled across a group..Britt Floyd. They are Fantastic. They put on a great show, the tunes are exact, they play to the audience and they just cant be beat as a Tribute Band. They are on You Tube, their concert at Red Rocks is the best. Haven't missed seeing them in concert in years.

Highly recommend them, you wont be disappointed.

I love the original album from 1973. By the time I reached high school, every single kid I knew owned that album.

I am not a fan of musicians reworking their own past work by releasing on new albums, especially if the work is iconic and superb. IMO, a money grab. In a concert, that is something else entirely. This sounds like a poor cover version of the original song. What made the original song great was PINK FLOYD, not just Roger Waters.

Now if we can make him realize that, world peace could be a possibility.

I'd go a bit different w/ Dream Theater if I wasn't gong to listen to the original.
I think I have two of Dream Theater's renditions of Pink Floyd's work on CD. No thank you Roger Waters.
This yt vid doesn't do it justice.

Mine as well, and probably my favorite band of all time, but I will skip Money every single time. I cannot stand that song.
