Grammy’s tribute to Ozzy… Login/Join

Mostly the Grammy’s can suck it, but they sure as F nailed the Ozzy tribute last night. Never would have thought of Post Malone for this but he crushed it, and Chad Smith (Chili Peppers) beat those drums into submission while Slash and Duff (Guns n’ Roses) wailed on the guitar and bass respectively.

Of all the metal rockers still with us…why oh why did they pick Post <insert genre of the week> Malone? They had me with the guitarists and drummer…I changed the channel 15 seconds after he started singing.

Yeah, can't say I agree with Post Malone killing it, then again, if its not Ozzy it's not going to be right with most singers...

Thanks for the feedback, hope it makes you feel better to get that out.

As I said, P.M. would not be my first choice, but he’s popular with this generation and that makes him a good choice to help keeps Ozzy’s music alive.

Ozzy was a huge part of my youth, it was a nice tribute and obviously meant a lot to Sharon and the kids.

No one will ever sing it like Ozzy. I enjoyed the tribute.

Someone made a mashup of a Hawthorne Heights song “Ohio is for Lovers” and combined it with Post Malone’s Song “I fall apart” and it worked WAAAAAAY better than it should have.

I appreciate that the "crew" came together to celebrate.

I think the Oz would have appreciated the thing.

And I am a die hard Black Sabbath fan, getting their first album in 1970 while in Iceland.

The playing was superb, but I think they could’ve done better than Post Malone.

I want to think the same thing, but a name escapes me to plug in for Malone. No, none of the grunge guys would have done it better.

Thinking about it, I think I would like Amy Lee to do a rendition.

To be clear, I liked this version.

Back in 2019 when Ozzy was alive, The Rival Sons did a tribute to him.

Nothing against Post Malone, I thought his was pretty damn good too.

I'm good w/it. So many other folks would've made changes to put their own twist on it. Post just sang it pretty well like Ozzy did.

Wasn't horrible or awful....they didn't shit the bed, I didn't think it was standout. Usually when bands cover Ozzy, it's a female singer whereas Malone sang down to avoid the higher notes and pitch.

I can't say I'm a huge Black Sabbath fan, but I have several of their albums and saw them live at the old Boston Garden (Kiss was the opening act).

I think the band members and Ozzy are and would have been pleased with their performance of the song. They are some stellar musicians.

But a confession, I'd never heard of Post Malone. I had to search his name.

That’s it! The original Hawthorne Heights version will always remain one of my favorites but the Post Malone mashup is pretty damn good in my opinion. Smile

Ozzy and Post Malone collaborated in 2019. Think there’s more to it than just randomly picking him…

Did you guys not see Judas Priest cover War Pigs?
They did an outstanding job. Halford in my opinion should have been asked. Rob of course needs no introduction here.
If you haven’t seen Priest’s cover do yourself a favor.

Ya it’s a good one! I thought Post Malone did good. There could have been others that might do better but I thought he did well.
