Plowing straight ahead come what may |
Tonight I listened to a couple of movie soundtracks on my iPod while chillin' on the back porch... Legends Of The Fall is outstanding as well as Gladiator (especially Lisa Gerrard)... Both well done ******************************************************** "we've gotta roll with the punches, learn to play all of our hunches Making the best of what ever comes our way Forget that blind ambition and learn to trust your intuition Plowing straight ahead come what may And theres a cowboy in the jungle" Jimmy Buffet

I pirated several soundtracks many, many years ago. (Don't worry. I stopped pirating media nearly a decade ago.) Here's a screenshot of most of them: http://superdimension.net/images/scores.jpg The Score It! series is cool because it condenses all the music down to less than 15 minutes. You still get a feel for the movie score without having to listen to a full-length album. It isn't a road trip without Smokey and the Bandit and both Blues Brothers soundtracks.

Reminds me of the software expert, computer nerd, that we had in once. He spent all his time on the road and his only hobby was collecting TV show theme songs. He said searching for them was what he did at night in his hotel room. He had thousands. I could not name a show he didn't have. I told him he needed to get laid! Collecting dust.

The Professional and The 5th Element. The old-school Conan movie soundtracks were awesome, too. ________________________________________ -- Fear is the mind-killer. Is there anything more stirring than listening to Superman: The Movie? Phone's ringing, Dude.

I like the ones mentioned but I'll add the Highlander soundtrack by Queen. Let all Men know thee, but no man know thee thoroughly: Men freely ford that see the shallows. Benjamin Franklin

Eric Serra has great scores starting with the big blue, Leon the professional, the 5th element, Atlantis, the messenger, etc. Killing Zoe by tomandandy is excellent. Clint Eastwood brings top notch jazz to his movies, take a look at the garden of good a deal evil and bird. Speaking of birds, Birdy is fabulous. Round midnight is excellent. The Big Chill was a great one. Liked GoG soundtrack too. ________________________________________________ "You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. And once again, as indicated above, this is a current thread. Four pages long.

Yes, but that thread is about scores. This one is about soundtracks. There's a difference! I agree, there’s a distinct difference between a movie score and a soundtrack. I came back to this thread because today I listened to a soundtrack that I really like from a favorite movie, “The Rookie.” Jim Morris’ amazing story of a Texas HS baseball coach who promises to attend a major league tryout if his team reaches the playoffs. Great soundtrack.
