I just started reading a new (to me) author - Taylor Stevens. The series is Vanessa Michael Munroe, and there are six books, the first published in 2011.It's a thriller genre series, quite well done. There are several things that impressed me. I didn't realize she was a female author until I read the bio at the end of the book. It reads like a typical guy thriller, except the protagonist is female. There's not the typical touchy/ feely/ romance-y aspect. It reads like a male-written book. SHe only has a sixth grade education, and was raised in a super strict religious cult and escaped from it. This is the part that totally floored me. Unbelievable. Worth a read if you're interested. Thus the metric system did not really catch on in the States, unless you count the increasing popularity of the nine-millimeter bullet. - Dave Barry "Never go through life saying 'I should have'..." - quote from the 9/11 Boatlift Story (thanks, sdy for posting it) | ||
