There is an internet theory that JK Rowling didn't imagine this full world in her mind and writings, but rather that the wizarding world is actually real and she is Rita Skeeter, banished for her actions, writing these works to fund her life as a banned witch. Now the BBC apparently gives confirmation of this in the following passage.  "JK Rowling is to release four new Harry Potter eBooks next month, offering fans the chance to "delve deeper into the rich history of magic". Rowling's Pottermore website will publish the non-fiction stories , which will be devoted to all things from the "wizarding world"." oops. I have enjoyed the books the first two times I read them. I had issues, but overall the books were a nice fun read. I have tried to read the books a few times since, and none of those times have been fun. Plot holes, unrealistic horrible choices by adults, epic levels of criminal negligence by just about every character at one time or another, apologist stalking, servile relationship examples for young teens. I could go on all day. Moving on is what JKR has done since the books have been published. The revisionist talks, the explanations about x person or y reason x person is z. When you figure in the information she has talked about since, the damn books are nothing but a woke bus careening off a cliff. | |||

The books were written a couple decades ago, well before the SJW pandering got to be the new cool thing. But lately, JK has been all over the media and Interwebs claiming that, even though it wasn't mentioned at all in her books, this certain character is gay, that character is a transgender pansexual, this other character is a racial minority even though they're specifically described as being white in the books, etc. etc. ad nauseum. Hence, revisionist wokeness. She's trying so desperately to pander to the "woke liberal" crowd by claiming all sorts of SJW-appropriate revisions that she supposedly meant to include from the beginning (but clearly did not) that she's continually tripping all over and contradicting herself in the process. It's become something of a running Internet joke by this point. | |||

Pretty much what Rogue said. Most of the revisionist stuff started happening a while back. Much of it as the movies were being produced. Since the new set of movies it has become almost laughable. | |||
