I'm also a big fan of Sarah McLachlan. I've probably seen her in concert more times than any other artist, including the Lilith Fairs.

Cyndi Lauper - Way underrated voice. The Bangles - Love some of their 80s hits. Sara M - Yep, she's great. Katy Perry - lots of good hooks in some of her songs.
Another pop/rock chick...I don't know any of her other songs, but really enjoy this one from Avril Lavigne.
