I swear I had something for this |
I won't see it on Christmas, even if I was off, but I would definitely see it on IMAX/Dolby Digital if it was available. The downside is that it's an independent release not connected to a studio, so it's doubtful it'll get a premium screen release. 100% Day 1 preorder on 4K, however. https://variety.com/2023/film/...ael-mann-1235659622/

Mann delivers good quality, I'm in for the 4K version. ___________________ "He who is without oil, shall throw the first rod" Compressions 9.5:1

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should |
A side note, since some of these folks are probably part of the actors strike, I'd question the release date. On the other hand, this may fall between the cracks, as outlined in the article below. When is a strike not a strike? If it is going forward on schedule, this may actually be good news for the film as it reduces the competition. Not that I really care about the actors strike otherwise. https://apnews.com/article/act...ce7237c11d557e933477 Hope it tells the real story and doesn't just end up with good special effects of cars crashing and bursting into balls of fire, like most Hollywood car racing films. ___________________________ Avoid buying ChiCom/CCP products whenever possible.

Wow Driver played “Gucci” now this. I guess they are going to keep casting him to be famous, wealthy, Italians. What am I doing? I'm talking to an empty telephone

About the only thing the strike covers is the actors promoting the film, doing interviews, and attending the premier. As far as accuracy, it's a Michael Mann film. With the time and research he does into his projects he qualifies as a subject matter expert. For one of the prison breaks in Public Enemies, he found the real jail John Dillinger broke out of and refurbished it for the film.

Looks great from the trailer. Love the nearly no dialog aspect. Will probably get me into a theater to see. Looks a lot better than the recent Lamborghini movie. The Enemy's gate is down.

Patrick Dempsey, probably best known from Gray's Anatomy, is in real life an accomplished race car driver. I met him once, briefly, at Homestead Motor Speedway, in the pit area between races. He seemed like a very nice down to earth guy.

As Extraordinary as Everyone Else |
Dempsey is indeed an accomplished driver. He actually fielded a Porsche private team in a recent 24 Hours of Lemans and made a documentary about it. https://mylifeatspeed.com/patr...mentary-on-velocity/ ------------------ Eddie Our Founding Fathers were men who understood that the right thing is not necessarily the written thing. -kkina

New Trailer. I still don't get why I'd play hide the salami with Shailene Woodley when I had Penelope Cruz at home. Or if I was getting away from a shrew at home, I could probably do a lot better than that if I was Enzo Ferrari.

Looking forward to this one. It'll get me to pay to see at the theater. The Enemy's gate is down.
