Ben Gazzara was a small town rich prick who was also the town bully with a bunch of inbred hillbilly flunkies. Cliff Robertson was a rich prick who had a ranch bigger than some of the smaller states and was the town asshole who basically had a militia of idiots at his beck and call.

The heroes were different: Malone ex CIA assassin/agent trying to escape his past while Dalton was a bouncer with a PhD who just came to town to do a job.

Lets be honest, both films are rip offs of "Shane".
