While he's played a number of notable roles, I always remember him in Real Genius. I think that was the first movie we watched after getting cable.

His role in Tombstone is, perhaps (IMO, of course), one of the greatest ever played. He was phenomenal in that film.

I also think he was the best Batman. He and Kidman had incredible chemistry.

Real Genius has been a favorite of mine for as long as I can remember. Top Gun, Heat, and Tombstone would be very different movies without Val Kilmer. Another piece of my childhood is gone. Frown

I read this morning that in the funeral scene of Top Gun Maverick, posted above, the two young people on the far side of Ice Man's wife are his real life children in uncredited roles. It's a quick bit of screen time, but a nice gesture to them nonetheless.
