Hello!

As the title states, I’m searching for options to audible. Yes, I’ve searched Google. I’d appreciate first-hand experiences and recommendations please.

Thank you!

Jim

I'm not sure what you're asking... "Options to audible"?

Are you referring to Audible, the audiobook service owned by Amazon?

With Audible, you have the option to either purchase an audiobook outright, generally $10-$30 (similar in price to a book itself), or have a monthly membership that for a fee grants you one or more monthly credits that can be redeemed for an audiobook. Or a combination of books bought outright and books purchased with credits. You can then listen to these audiobooks through their website, or via their app on a phone/tablet.

Or do you perhaps mean alternatives to Audible... As in, you don't want to use Audible, but want something similar? If that's the case, check with your local public library. Many of them are offering the ability to check out digital audiobooks nowadays, but the exact process and app used to do it varies from library to library.

Another option is listening to podcasts, most of which are free. While they're more like lectures or talk shows than novels, chances are you can find podcasts that fit any interest you have, whether it's history, current events, guns, murder mysteries, science, military, fantasy, etc. Grab an app like PodcastAddict to browse, download, and listen to any of the thousands of free podcasts.

Sorry I wasn’t clear.

I dislike what audible offers. What other services are available that are similar?

Thank you,

Jim

You can have your iPad read the contents of a window to you. That's what my neighbor does to turn his Kindle library into audio books.
