This is a British series set in Scotland. Apparently the Scots can't complete a sentence without using the F word at least once.

It is about a detective returning to work after being shot when a gunman attacks a crime scene. Two are wounded and 1 killed.

He is put in a basement and told to investigate cold cases. His supervisor gets millions to set up the department, but he gets nothing.

He and a Syrian computer expert (assigned as his staff) work on the disappearance of an advocate who has been missing for 4 years. It is 9 episodes long and I fast forwarded through a lot.

It is complicated, but I enjoyed it. It is on Netflix.

I liked it, but was the Syrian a computer expert? I got the vibe he was like "secret police" in Syria or something along those lines before coming to the UK. He's certainly willing and capable of using violence to get answers.

He was working for the Scottish police as some sort of IT person. It is very cloudy as to what he did in Syria.

Pretty sure his job in Syria was founding people who didn't want to be found and possibly making them disappear. Good throat punch to the wannabe gangster kid. I enjoyed it and I am looking forward to season 2.

I really enjoyed this series. I could have sworn there was a thread about it, but I can't find it.
