As I sit here, knocking back a(nother) Christmas drink watching (finishing) Die Hard, I’m left wondering: To those who accept Die Hard as a Christmas movie, is Die Hard 2 a Christmas movie? I personally enjoy it as such, but this poll is devoted to the holiday Die Hard fans who have already accepted the first as a Christmas flick. To those who already agreed to the first Die Hard being a Christmas movie, is Die Hard 2 part of that, or do you simply watch the original flick??

Question:
Is Die Hard 2 a part of the Christmas flick list?

Choices:
Yes
No
Die Hard isn’t a Christmas flick and I don’t fit into the intention of this poll and thusly voted so.

...Then it comes to be that the soothing light at the end of your tunnel, was just a freight train coming your way...

This year we watched Die Hard 2 and didn’t watch the original, just for a change. I voted “yes,” same Christmas time period as Die Hard, but honestly the Christmas season is more omnipresent in the first.

Yes, it's a Christmas movie just like the original. However, while the original was one of the greatest Christmas movies of all time, Die Hard 2 was one of the worst. About the only fun thing about the movie was Asshole Reporter having a restraining order against Holly McClane.

Die Hard 2 can be thought of as being a Christmas movie. By the same token, you'd also have to include the first Rocky.

To be a Christmas movie, Rocky would have needed to get that title shot because of Christmas. John McLane would never have been in Los Angeles except for his wife's company flying him out for Christmas.

By the above logic I also place Long Kiss Goodnight and Night of The Comet as Christmas movies as well. Big Grin

No, because Christmas has to be the factor around why the events are happening instead of a story that happens around the same time.

Or at least this was what was agreed to at work......

So Long Kiss Goodnight happens because she is seen in a Christmas parade.

Yep…..here we are having this conversation. Maybe we follow up with a little Green Lantern vs Superman. Big Grin. Razz

Die Hard 2 is a holiday movie that falls between Thanksgiving and New Years.

Die Hard 1 is a Christmas movie.

We had this debate in my unit (it gets really boring in the middle of the week during winter at 0400) and the consensus was that Geena Davis was spotted because she was at a televised parade which could have been at anytime (St Pats, Thanksgiving, etc) while in Die Hard, Bruce Willis was specifically flown from New York to LA as a Christmas gift to his wife, he had Christmas gifts for his kids, and attended the Nakatomi Christmas party before things broke loose.

I haven't seen the other movies mentioned so I don't have an opinion on the others, but there is a Christmas Horror movie in Krampus so it's more than just the "happy go lucky family drama/comedy."

But to do that, we'd have to specify which Green Lantern is facing Superman while wondering if there are any Kryptonian Green Lanterns that would get the same boost Superman gets around yellow stars, and..... Big Grin
