The primary hosts are the Deputy Director of the Mississippi Military Museum and a retired Navy sub commander (USS Indianapolis), but they bring in folks like Dave Holland, who knows Guadalcanal having lived there for years and years and Ken Parshall, a noted Navy historian.
Each episode is a discussion of a specific action or event during the war.
I HIGHLY recommend this podcast.

Been listening to episodes over the last 4-months, very solid. Wished the production quality was a bit better but, I'll take it as the content is very good.

This is a great podcast Sig2340.
I just finished the episode on "Dugout" Douglas Macarthur. Boy, did they tear him a new one!

JON Parshall is the co-author (with Anthony Tully) of the incredible Shattered Sword about the Battle of Midway.
As for Unauthorized History, I've listened to several and they are very good. The primary host Seth Paridon is excellent but Bill Toti (sub guy) not so much. Some of his woke comments are cringeworthy. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Blackmore, October 14, 2023 08:46 AM

The UHotPWP team recommended Requiem for Battleship Yamato by Yoshida Mitsuru, a junior officer who survived the sinking.
Parshall, in particular, had great things to say about this book.
And they are 100% correct.
Plus, some of the passages, even translated from Japanese to English, retained the literary quality of Japanese poetry.
I highly recommend it.

I’m not sure how often they add to these but they now have a lot of episodes covering much of the Pacific war. They are generally excellent.
