I've been a longtime fan of W. Eugene Smith's work. I find his B&W prints to be exquisite. That said, I was totally unaware of his relatively short-term but very intense involvement with the NYC jazz scene. I watched The Jazz Loft According to W. Eugene Smith on Amazon Prime last night and found it quite intriguing. It was one of the best videos I've watched in some time. Anyone with an interest in photography, early photojournalism, jazz or attempting to understand the personalities of creative types in general will probably find it worth their time. | ||
