I need help setting up a tour that will include transportation from the hotel.

Our Viking river cruise from St Petersburg ends in Moscow and we're doing a two day add-on specifically so I can visit on SUnday, May 17. Mrs. Sigmund has no interest. I emailed the hotel concierge desk, and much to my disappointment they referred me to the musuem (second link).

I prefer to spend four hours AT the museum, and I realize traffic will reduce that time.

I may try the hotel again, but for now I'll go with the collective wisdom of SF. I need English and transportation from the Radisson Blu Plaza, but it does not have to be a private tour. I found these on the www:

Looks like it’s a three hour ride by car/bus.
It’s been years since I’ve been in Moscow, but at that time all you needed was to know someone, anyone, and they would know someone reasonably trustworthy who would drive you where you want to go for a fee agreed upon in advance.

Or if you had a private interpreter, they would know how to get there, and the interpreter could at least read the signs at the museum.

Note in one of the Trip Advisor forums it’s pointed out you need PERMISSION to visit; one way to guarantee that would be going with the Viator company.

By the way, my favorite place to visit in Moscow is the Tretyakovsky art museum, and in St. Petersburg the Russian Museum. I love Russian paintings.

Looked over the website. My Russian isn’t good enough to read the texts, but that’s a fantastic collection of planes and helicopters. Yaks, Ilyushins, MIGs, Sukhoi, Tupolev, Sturmoviks, you name it!
