Once again they refuse to see the point. Its not that there are too many Star Wars movies or Marvel TV shows..... its that they SUCK

No fan anywhere is saying "Oh no! Too many awesome shows of my favorite and wildly popular franchise!!!"

You suck, you have ruined them, and nobody wants to watch this garbage.

Don't weep for the stupid, or you will be crying all day

Looks like Disney is taking the axe to Marvel with a bombshell firing of a longtime woke executive

Marvel Studios Exec Victoria Alonso Was Reportedly Fired by Disney
quote:
New details regarding the exit of longtime Marvel Studios exec Victoria Alonso reveal she was fired - and that she had no idea it was coming.

New details have surfaced regarding the abrupt exit of longtime Marvel Studios executive Victoria Alonso.

Earlier this week, it came to light that Alonso had parted ways with Marvel Studios on Friday, March 17 -- ending her 17-year tenure with the company. According to Variety, however, three insiders with knowledge of the situation say Alonso was actually terminated from her role as president of physical, post-production, VFX and animation. What's more, Alonso was evidently caught completely off-guard by this development.

While the exact reason for Alonso's firing is currently unknown, the insiders say the decision was made by human resources and The Walt Disney Company's legal department, as well as a number of company executives. One such executive was reportedly Disney Entertainment co-chairman Alan Bergman, whom everyone at Marvel Studios reports to. Supposedly, Marvel Studios president and Marvel Entertainment chief creative officer Kevin Feige -- Alonso's longtime boss -- felt trapped in an impossible situation. As such, one insider claims, Feige did not intervene in the proceedings. Another source claims that Alonso was "blindsided" by her termination.

Marvel Employees Push Back on the Accusations Against Alonso

Notably, news of Alonso's exit comes at a time when Marvel Studios has found itself under increased scrutiny for its alleged treatment of the VFX artists that work on its films and streaming shows. Some have singled out Alonso for allegedly creating a toxic work environment and blacklisting artists she doesn't like. "She is known in the industry as a kingmaker," an anonymous, Vancouver-based VFX tech who has vowed to never work for Marvel again said in a piece published by Vulture earlier this year. "If she likes you, you are going to get work and move up in the industry. If you have pissed her off in any way, you're going to get frozen out."

In the same article, however, a UK-based VFX artist named Joe Pavlo called the existence of any industry blacklists a "myth," saying that massive studios like Marvel have so much VFX work to be done that they can't afford to cut anyone out. Nevertheless, after news of Alonso's Marvel departure broke, Vulture senior reporter Chris Lee stood by his initial piece. "SO many VFX sources have told me Victoria Alonso was singularly responsible for Marvel's toxic work environment: a kingmaker who rewarded unquestioning fealty with an avalanche of work, but who also maintained the blacklist that kept FX pros wild eyed with fear," Lee tweeted.

That said, in Variety's new piece, a senior VFX artist at Marvel pushed back against some of these claims, particularly the notion that Alonso would target individual artists. "The idea of a very senior exec terrifying rank and file artists, per some reports, feels a bit off," they said. Moreover, three different "up-and-coming" Marvel Cinematic Universe actors agreed that Alonso was "only a supportive force on set." A former Disney film exec also came to Alonso's defense, saying, "She was the epitome of professional and knows her stuff."

Victoria Alonso's Marvel Legacy

Alonso joined Marvel Studios as executive vice president of visual effects and post-production in 2006 -- two years before the MCU kicked off with the release of Iron Man and three years before Disney acquired the company. Alonso served as co-producer on Iron Man, as well as on Iron Man 2, Thor and Captain America: The First Avenger. She has served as an executive producer on every Marvel Studios film and TV series since 2012's The Avengers. Alonso was promoted to executive VP of production in 2015 before again being promoted to president of physical, post-production, VFX and animation in 2021.

During her time at Marvel, Alonso worked closely with Feige and fellow exec Louis D'Esposito. She has also been lauded by media watchdogs for her vocal support of more diverse stories set within the MCU. Alonso chronicles her career in her upcoming memoir, titled Possibility Is Your Superpower.

Victoria Alonso Clashed With Kevin Feige, Disney Afraid Of Woke Backlash
quote:
New information is learned about the firing of Victoria Alonso from Marvel where it is reported the exec butted heads with the head of Marvel, Kevin Feige, and it seems Disney is afraid of possible woke backlash from the LGBTQ and left communities.

Victoria Alonso is a gay female Latino exec at Marvel who has come out against things such as the X-Men because the term contains the word “men,” and Alonso blasted former Disney CEO Bob Chapek over Florida’s Parental Rights in Education Bill where she revealed she had a 45-minute sit down with the CEO.

Marvel destroyed by the woke agenda

The end of the MCU’s Phase 3 (Captain Marvel, The Avengers: Endgame), the entirety of Phase 4, and the start of Phase 5 (Cassie is an SJW, socialism is praised) have seen a number of characters and storylines introduced that are about the woke agenda of replacing original characters in order to make them LGBTQ, or POC, or to fit with the progressive storylines.

The characters are not only replaced but some are eliminated entirely – ironically – because their gender or skin color doesn’t fit with the woke agenda and often the characters are emasculated.

It’s woke when the left and LGBTQ groups of people are put on a pedestal at the expense of another group regardless if the story is any good, instead of raising both groups up at the same time that mutually benefits each other.

So it’s obvious that Victoria Alonso has been pushing an LGBTQ agenda within Marvel, which is no secret as Disney execs have also publicly stated they have a not-so-secret plan to push a gay agenda; however, again, the problem is not that LGBTQ characters and storylines are being introduced, it’s that the LGBTQ characters and storylines are being introduced at the expense of existing characters and storylines that don’t play out organically. They never answer the question: Why not create new characters and stories? Why are you going out of your way to eliminate existing characters and the story comes last?

...

Victoria Alonso to be the “hero” of the LGBTQ community

What is happening is that things are playing out just as I said, as all the reports about the firing of Victoria Alonso are about the problems with the VFX, but none of them are reporting about the problems surrounding the MCU’s woke content or Alonso’s woke politics, which has destroyed Marvel, something I said was going to happen four years ago.

It’s my guess that Victoria Alonso will spin herself as the “hero” of the LGBTQ community who stood up to Disney and Marvel and got fired for that, hence why Disney and Marvel don’t want to see the “conspiracy theory” about Alonso’s politics getting her fired.

So potentially watch out for that narrative to play out online and in the trades, that is unless Alonso was given a bunch of hush money, which might be the case as it has been reported Disney’s legal department took part in the meeting when she was fired and could be why insiders don’t want her politics referenced.

They can put out as much and as many Marvel shows and movies as they want, but as has been pointed out already in this thread - They have to actually be GOOD. I'm not familiar with what exactly happened after End Game, but EVERYTHING since End Game has been mediocre to BAD, with the vast majority of it being bad to dogshit.

And it's not the actors. We KNOW they can act.

I was really excited for The Falcon to take up the mantle of Captain America and see where they went with that, but after the show, I'm not even going to bother watching.

Clearly it flows downhill. Disney has a variety of execs who are openly woke and resisted Chapek's changes. The president of the board of Disney is a lesbian and has encouraged outspoken executives on social commentary.

The problems at LucasFilms and the Star Wars franchise are well known, with Kennedy being the grand-dame of wokeness and her cabal of female sr executives, Marvel is simply mirroring their sister company with the same missteps. ESPN has had a couple of rounds of layoffs over the last five-years, punctuated by John Skipper's 10-yr tenure where the value of the company plummeted in the midst of large rights contracts and who encouraged the likes of Jamelle Hill, Michael Steele and Keith Olbermann. Disney parks are nothing special and widely over-priced. Disney programing has been suboptimal and not terribly creative, if not dreadful bordering on offensive.

More changes coming... Nice hat on the host Cool
