Well, based on the Sprint race, the trick is to wet down the track before starting the race.
They still need to work on clearing cars and debris quicker so the races can end under a green flag.

Chaotic sprint, really feel for Kimi, he put in a great quali lap, and a decent drive in the sprint, only to get shafted in the pits.

Also, my probably main complaint on F1TV. It is hit/miss when it gives the 'start from the beginning' on a session that is currently live. Have to join live & rewind.

That’s always going to be difficult on a street circuit.

In 2025 we're seeing at 3 records that are unlikely to be broken:
1. Youngest pole sitter in a F1 race
2. Youngest front row to start a F1 race
3. Most Q1 exits by a single driver.

I see the Sir Lew fan boys view his prickly radio transmissions as evidence he's settling in, displaying confidence. He's happy they say, his best race of the year. As Lew acted out, the announce team got quiet, almost embarrassed so seemingly not such a good thing. Did they miss the nuance and perspective?

And oh yeah, why is Charles so pessimistic on the radio? Roll Eyes

Generally, when I hear a whiner start whining, I simply assume they are going back to their base. However, Ferrari seems to be so jacked up that somebody grabbing them by the scruff of their neck may be what it takes.

Not a fan of Sir Whiny and all; but I have never understood the lack of decision making when your 2 drivers are on obviously very different strategies. This happens so often, and the teams act like it is the first time anyone has had to deal with it. Why put your drivers on different strategies if your not going to use the differences?

What surprises me is that King Lewie thought that all of Ferrari's strategy bungling would go away just because he graced them with his presence. I also liked no matter how hard he tried, all he could see was the ass end of his old Mercedes driven by an 18 year old and there was nothing he could do about it.

I'm also sad to admit that the Miami "Autodrome" put on a much better race than IndyCar at Barber.

Audi F1 engine boss leaves in another management change

May 5, 2025

Audi Formula 1 engine chief Adam Baker has departed the programme "by mutual agreement", Audi has revealed as part of its latest F1 restructuring.

It means the Audi F1 project at the top is now effectively completely recognisable compared to when it was revealed - with the change on the engine side adding to the metamorphoses the project had undergone on the team/chassis side.

Audi CEO (chief executive officer) Gernot Dollner - who had replaced Markus Duesmann in the role after Audi's F1 project had already been announced - said: "We would like to thank Adam Baker for his commitment over the past years. He played a decisive role in shaping the overall strategic concept for the entry of Audi into Formula 1 and got the development of the power unit in Neuburg off the ground."

Baker's official role as CEO of Audi Formula Racing GmbH has been "eliminated as part of the reorganisation", but his responsibilities will be assumed by Christian Foyer, appointed as COO (chief operating officer).

Foyer has been described by Audi as a combustion engine specialist and "a proven expert in process structures in F1 powertrain development". The specifics of his prior involvement with F1 projects aren't publicly available.

Long-time Audi engineer Stefan Dreyer will remain as the CTO (chief technical officer) while also becoming the spokesperson for the management board of Audi's F1 engine company.

Audi says the changes are intended to "align its F1 project even more consistently with the synergies and working methods of a factory team" and thus bring the various moving parts more "under the overall leadership of Mattia Binotto".

The former Ferrari F1 boss took over the reins of the project last year, replacing Andreas Seidl - who had originally left McLaren to head up the Audi F1 programme - and Oliver Hoffmann.

They've effectively swapped with Aston, who seems to have taken the bottom away from Sauber.

Ahead of their highly-anticipated entry as the grid's 11th team from 2026 onwards, Cadillac have revealed their team logo and brand that will mark their Formula 1 identity and set them apart from their rivals for the upcoming seasons.

Leaning into their all-American reputation, the team – who are backed by TWG Motorsports and General Motors (GM) – held a red carpet event in Miami following Saturday's Sprint and Qualifying to unveil their chosen branding.

With the 2025 season almost a quarter complete, there is plenty of focus on Cadillac and the steps they take ahead of next year's first Grand Prix. From their striking new branding to the constantly evolving reports surrounding their possible driver line-up, the team's introduction to the paddock is undoubtedly set to shake things up.

Cadillac have taken on the experienced Graeme Lowdon, who was previously a key part of Manor's journey to F1, as Team Principal and will compete with Ferrari engines until 2029, with GM Performance Power Units LLC. having been officially approved as an F1 power unit supplier by the FIA from then.

Quite an avant garde logo, such a departure from their prior efforts.

Okay, help me out here please.

When I look at the new Cadillac banner it screams to me a stylized script was utilized and reads as the following:

'it cia cicit'

That could be loosely translated as:

The Feminine Great Grandchild.

Am I the only one seeing this? Can it be unseen? Was the old logo that bad?

Would have preferred they dig into their heritage and claim a badge ~100 years prior to becoming a stand alone team:

Do they really need to tell us the part about the 'Formula 1 Team'?

Things are going to get more interesting with Flava Flav in full control of Alpine. I also find it telling that Colapinto is only interested the car for 5 races. Are they really that clueless on the pace of their car, or is this the minimum number of races Colapinto needs to run to make his sponsors happy?

My guess is that they're giving him a fair shake to see how he does in the car before making a final decision for the rest of the season.
