Anyone watching this? As a fan of the Bosch series and The Lincoln Lawyer movie, I was interested but it's got some pretty terrible reviews from the regular viewing audience on IMDB.

If your a McConaughey fan, you might be disappointed he's not part of the revamp. Still the premise was good so I'll give it a look see.

Watched E1 and I'm out. Clincher was the last scene of E1 where he's got a day old beard growth, then switch to the extended scene in E2 and he's clean shaven. Such lack of attention to detail is a big turn off for me. If this sort of thing doesn't bug you the watch on.

Wife launched it yesterday and we watched a few episodes.
Reminds me of a bunch of similar other series, nothing ground breaking so far….

I watched the first episode and thought it looks interesting. I will keep watching. I have been a fan of lawyer shows since Perry Mason.

I've been a long time fan of Connelly's books, so I started watching this. First two episodes yesterday, but I am self-spoiled since I already know what the "magic bullet" is. But I will continue watching as it was easily enjoyable. I didn't quite picture Cisco as the actor who plays him, but he's doing well in the role. Maggie McFierce is well cast.

Can someone tell me if the series is the same basic plot of the movie?
Having too many deja-vu.

It's a different novel than the movie.

So far the series is a different crime, characters, and bad guys than the movie.

Thanks for the replies to my questions.

Basically going back to my too many deja vu opinion. Reminds me of Donovan, the one with Billy Bob Thorton, and other tv lawyers tricks and plots.

Watching it right now and he is 100% not clean shaven at the beginning of episode 2.

Why would they use an actor without an American accent? Odd.

I really enjoyed the books, so I'll check it out.

I do see the resemblance to Goliath and even to Bosch.
Not so much on the deja vu except to establish a character and it doesn't bother me.
Have seen 4 eps and like it quite a bit so far.

Haller had a Mexican mother and lived primarily with her in Mexico City, only spending summers in LA with his dad.

I will say his accent takes away from being a super slick defense attorney.

My wife and I watched the series and while it's not the "best" series we've ever seen, it's certainly not the worst and we'll continue watching it when it comes back.
