One of the early greats of the Boogie Woogie piano. I am listening to his albums this morning while I browse the forum (courtesy of Apple Music). His most famous piece was Honky Tonk Train Blues, recorded in 1927: Link to original video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iabfLNKjNQY

That was one of my Dad's favorite songs to play on the piano. "I'm yet another resource-consuming kid in an overpopulated planet raised to an alarming extent by Hollywood and Madison Avenue, poised with my cynical and alienated peers to take over the world when you're old and weak!" - Calvin, "Calvin & Hobbes"

Big Pete Johnson fan here, but the best I ever heard was my father. He knew all the styles. He and two of his brothers used to do a six-hand, one piano version of "House of Blue Lights" that I'd give anything to have a recording of. _____________________________ "A free people ought not only to be armed and disciplined but they should have sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a status of independence from any who might attempt to abuse them, which would include their own government." George Washington.

I have this song on my phone and my computer. A few years ago, I bought a few cd's that had original recordings of songs from the 1920's and 1930's. This song was on one of them.

Honky Tonk Train Blues sort of became his signature song, though he had plentiful output. Boogie Woogie is one of my favorite music genres.
