My wife and I are enjoying this. Plenty of interesting characters and dialog. I don't know what it is actually like behind the scenes of world politics. I can imagine it is chaotic, as it's portrayed in the show. I am not sure it is one of those shows that can keep going but worth the watch for sure. JC

Our younger son is in for visit. In his recent visits, we’ve begun to binge watch shows from the streaming services. This time the first choice was The Diplomat. Entertaining and interesting, some of the plot stretches to be remotely plausible. Liked the depiction of the Bidenesque POTUS (way to go, Squiggy). W/o spoilering, the next season is set up well by the season finale. Slightly drifting our number 2 viewing choice was The Night Agent, also entertaining. Same somewhat implausible plot, the POTUS and her COS running counter intelligence ops in the White House basement....but we made to end of the season and would be interested where the next season would go. I certainly did not see that ending coming [literally the last 30 seconds]. You are correct, the series is now poised to be continued. When in doubt, mumble

Yeah, Rufus Sewell. He's been in a number of things and I've enjoyed his portrayals in every one of them I've seen. "America is at that awkward stage. I just started watching this week. Episode 6. I am impressed with the storyline, Keri Russell, and I’m glad to see the man from the Man in the Iron Castle playing something else than a German Nazi. As good as Keri Russell is in this series and in the Americans, I’m surprised she hasn’t blown up as a star. I see she had to produce this series hers. "It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual."
