I'm weird, I love the movie, IMO the best one by Lynch. I first saw it in summer 1979 at a L.A. art house theater midnight showing, I also have it on Criterion Blu Ray. Kubrick once stated it was his favorite film and reportedly used it as a reference while making The Shining. Another tidbit- Charlotte Stewart who portrayed Mary in the film was in the cast of Little House on The Prairie TV show as Miss Beadle.

I watched it once just to see what everyone was talking about. Made it through to the end, but have no desire to ever see it again.
