I didn't think it was tops but there was a moment that really hit me. First episode here:

My wife and I watched it, we both liked it. But I won't be paying for Paramount+. The first two episodes of Frasier will air on October 17, 2023, on CBS though. Don't know if they will re-air the rest of the series on CBS. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tomorrow's battle is won during today's practice.

I liked the original Frazier. The interplay between him and Niles. The impeccable timing. The witty repartee. Here, Frasier seems his old self - he aged pretty well actually. But I don’t really care for the other characters - they seem contrived and over done. Unnatural and off. If available, I might watch some more and give it a shot. But it’s not off to a good start for me; unlike the original which hooked me immediately.This message has been edited. Get my pies outta the oven! |
We have Paramount+ and are fans of Frasier but are reluctant to watch this because these show rarely ever work out when they try a reboot or spin-off without the supporting cast that made it so good. Three examples I can think of are: Three’s Company>The Ropers Seinfeld>The Michael Richards Show Friends>Joey

I never watched the original all that much but watch the first two of the new one. It's OK, not great but moderately meh. Might watch some more if nothing else is on. Always like Kelsey Grammer as a person and actor though.

I enjoyed the original series and had forgotten where Frasier wound up at the end of that series. This spinoff is OK...I think Kelsey Grammer can carry the show until the character development is complete. "If you’re a leader, you lead the way. "Frasier Crane was introduced in 1984, at the beginning of Season 3", of Cheers. "... the longest-running character in TV history." And still going.

So, why no Niles? . | |||

Life's too short to live by the rules |
David Hyde Pierce did not want to reprise his role as the Niles character. It’s a shame, the show could have really used him.

I liked the original Frasier - the new one... not so much. It seemed they were all trying too hard - it's almost as if there is a *wink* and pause after each one liner. I reject your reality and substitute my own. --Adam Savage, MythBusters

You are absolutely right. Most of the cast might be passable, but not great. It's that kid they got to play Niles and Daphne's kid, he's just not a good actor for this, or probably other things either.

When all the new actors get their footing, it might be pretty good. It may take 6 or 8 shows, and some people may be replaced. Safety, Situational Awareness and proficiency. Neck Ties, Hats and ammo brass, Never ,ever touch'em w/o asking first

The first season of a new series usually sucks, as character development is taking place, plots are taking time to gel, and the show in general is trying to "find its way". For example... Seinfeld - first season SUCKED The Office - first season SUCKED The Big Bang Theory - first season SUCKED Breaking Bad - first season SUCKED I'm sure for Frasier (reboot) - first season will SUCK "If you’re a leader, you lead the way. Not just on the easy ones; you take the tough ones too…” – MAJ Richard D. Winters (1918-2011), E Company, 2nd Battalion, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne "Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil... paradox in a box |
I just watched a few minutes and shut it off. It felt like I was watching a performance at a local high school theater. I shut it off when Freddie mentioned some guy and that the girl wasn't his girlfriend. Maybe I was wrong, but I felt like they were gonna throw some more woke gay crap at us. These go to eleven.

I was thinking the exact same but I was wrong. But I'm sure some gay dude will be along to eventually join the cast. It's a regulation isn't it?

Hopefully not. I’ll give it another shot but I hope the acting improves. These go to eleven.

Of course! It's the Hollywood way.... "If you’re a leader, you lead the way. Not just on the easy ones; you take the tough ones too…” – MAJ Richard D. I watched the rest of Ep 1 and started 2 (fell asleep because I was tired,not bored). Felt the show already improved. But seems it's gonna be similar to theme to the old show. Frasier living with his son, who is down to earth, like his dad. Same dynamic. Even the apartment is the same layout. These go to eleven.
