Searched & didn't anything in this vein.

Not historically, but who have you seen recently, live/have tickets to see in the future?

Went with a few coworkers to Papa Roach/Shinedown last night. We saw Shinedown with Godsmack 2 years ago, & they didn't disappoint last night. They're really not far off album sound at a live outdoor venue.
PR was good, but I'd say Shinedown took the show overall.
Spiritbox [Canadian metal band] opened for them, not bad, and have been streaming some of their stuff this morning. If you didn't know their songs, you definitely weren't going to get the lyrics live. Lead singer, she could really belt it out and pretty surprising to go from flowing melody to metal yell between verses.

Have tickets for next week to Ben Folds. I think will be my 7th time seeing him live, and probably the smallest venue I've seen him play.
Have seen him solo, with 2 symphonies, and as Ben Folds Five.

Tried twice to get tickets for tomorrow's Foo Fighters show, but both sales sold out in 30 minutes while I was still in the virtual 'line'.
Saw them back in 08 in a large venue & it was great. They're playing a 5000 head venue tomorrow, bummed to miss it.

Saw TOOL last week. We had great seats off to the side. Was able to watch Maynard pretty clearly.

Rosetta Stoned made a comeback into the setlist. No 46 and 2 though.

The band is getting up there in years but still put on a great show.

Somebody posted the audio of the show in YT.

Ned LeDoux with Cowboy Underground just last month. Morgan Wade earlier this summer or late spring. For reasons that escape me, we’re not getting the live music shows here that we did before the Virus.

Can't really justify much of the live concerts today.

A couple reasons is the talent of my genre is diminished greatly because of aging and the PRICE of concerts is way out of control.

I get it they can't get paid anymore because of album/CD sales and don't get much for streaming.
You get spoiled when you paid under $20 for a talent in their prime (and your prime Smile) and now it costs $1000 for the same band way past their prime.

The only thing I have seen recently was John Petrucci, it was spectacular, sound was amazing, and the pricing was reasonable (got a near front ticket for $60 incl fees). Cool

Before that it was a few before Covid and I think it was Steely Dan.

If it counts, I seek out and buy LIVE recordings from my favorite bands.
Something about the energy that is lost in studio recordings that comes through even though you are not there. Smile

Got lucky & scored a pair of tickets [at less than original face value] right before the show started.
Missed a couple of the opening songs [no opener] but still had a great time

Not the greatest 'seats' but the pit looked like sardines, glad to be on the elevated bit.
Show started around 7:30 & they wrapped up around 10:40, we got there a bit after 8:00

I’m taking my son to see Greg Koch again on Sunday. We went last year and had an absolute blast.

Just saw Larry McCray, was supposed to see Buddy Guy but it was postponed to April. Going to Jethro Tull later this month and Joanne Shaw Taylor next month. Caught an unusually high number of shows this summer due to working PT at a venue- some of my favorites from the summer were Gov’t Mule, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Trombone Shorty and Samantha Fish.

3 out of those 4 (no trombone) were here in the RVA area, and sadly I missed them,

my high school buddy and I vowed to make a point ot see Tedeschi Trucks next time there are here,

My wife got Cody Johnson tickets for her birthday back in August, show was tonight.
Country isn't really my thing, but he puts on a good show.
Openers were Jesse Rain Jr & Tracy Byrd. Both were great as well.

Tracy Byrd was a nice throwback, grew up on some early 90s country as a kid.

All relatively local to our outdoor venue in N Houston.

Just a couple of weeks ago, saw the Colter Wall and Friends Tour, also called the All-Canadians Tour (or something like that) featuring Colter Wall (Saskatchewan), Corb Lund, and Noeline Hofmann (both Alberta). The whole show was music you just don’t hear anymore: cowboy songs, farm and ranch life, Western Swing (that would make Bob Wills proud), and story songs like this one from Corb Lund. This is the second time I’ve seen Colter Wall, I love his music.

I would like to see Colter Wall. His music is such antidote to much of what passes for music these days.

I’ve been sick the last couple of months and missed some good shows (like Eilen Jewell up in Door County, Wisc at the end of July).

But, we will be driving to Philadelphia to spend Thanksgiving with my son. So, I checked some of the musicians I like to see if any of them were touring in the area.

Even though it’s a little out of the way, I learned that Gillian Welch and Dave Rawlings will be playing in Ithaca, NY the night before we’re supposed to get to Philly. So, we added another day to our trip and got tickets for the show.

That would be great, Rich, I’d love to see that show too. Hope you’re feeling better now.
