Okay, since you folks seemed to like Disturbed's cover of the folksy "Sound of Silence" song so well, here's another...

The newest single from metal band Unleash The Archers is a cover of Stan Roger's "Northwest Passage" (which I've seen described as "Canada's unofficial national anthem"). It's pretty outstanding, not least because UtA's lead singer, Brittney Hayes, has an amazing set of pipes.

Stan Rogers' original: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TVY8LoM47xI

What else have you got?

Yeah, I'm familiar with Frog Leap Studios. Unfortunately, his covers are kinda hit-or-miss...

Surprisingly, one of his best is his metal cover of Adele's "Hello": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LtQUJMBH8uE

Metallica's cover of the Irish "Whiskey in the Jar" is pretty solid.... They covered the Dubliners' version. Or was it the Thin Lizzy version?

These guys also do a cover of Sounds of Silence, but their cover of Barry McGuire's folk/protest song is a favorite.

I didn't realize New Order was considered folk music.

As much as I hate the fact that everyone seems to have forgotten Simon & Garfunkel's song, it sems a must to post Disturbed's version:

The OP mentioned this specifically. Not that another video of it hurts. Wink

Yeah, I figured I'd link another copy of it, since most of the other links are dead.
