Where's PigPen? If anyone deserves to sit alone, it's him. Is it possible the script had him as the original guest sitting alone, then casting was changed for Franklin?

In the 1942 movie “Holiday Inn” the Lincoln’s Birthday blackface sequence is routinely cut by AMC but is left in on TCM. It’ll be interesting to see if that will still be the case this year. It’s to be shown on TCM on Saturday-December 8, at 8:00pm.
