LS1 GTOLook, mother, I want to go to work in one hour. We are the Pros from Dover and we figure to crack this kid's chest and get out to golf course before it gets dark. So you go find the gas-passer and you have him pre-medicate this patient. Then bring me the latest pictures on him. The ones we saw must be 48 hours old by now. Then call the kitchen and have them rustle us up some lunch.
Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

That might explain why I recall thinking the movie was great, but I absolutely hated the series--particularly Alan "Smarmy" Alda

Hornberger used the pseudonym Hooker for his book, the Hawkeye character based on him and his experiences in Korea.

He hated the anti-war sentiments ascribed to him by the public. In 1983 he told a reporter for Newsweek that while the show was accurate in its physical portrayal of a MASH unit, it “tramples on my memories.” And his son, William Hornberger, told the New York Times that his father hadn’t intended to write an anti-war book. “My father was a political conservative, and he did not like the liberal tendencies that Alan Alda portrayed Hawkeye Pierce as having,” he explained.

quote:
He said: “No one in their right mind would be pro-war but I operated on 1,000 or so wounded kids and I know more about war than a bunch of under-educated actors who go around blithering those sanctimonious, self-righteous noises.”
“If you’re going to start a war, you might as well play to win.”

Blume9mmMASH the TV series was okay at first but got pretty predictable and lame at the end.... and I agree, nothing like the Movie. Altman was a genius at throwing a lot at you at one time.
