If attempts count there's the original The Day of the Jackal.

Hopper and Walken in True Romance. Interrogation, assassination... whatever. They went there to kill him so I'll call it a hit.

I also love the cinematography of the murder of Malone (Connery) in The Untouchables. I love the POV camera work of the first intruder with the knife and then Nitti with the tommy gun... all set to Vesti la Giubba. Classic DePalma. The elevator one was great, too. Those images have always stuck with me.

Home Alone

"Take that, you filthy animal!"

More seriously - the scene in Bullitt where they kill the guy in witness protection.

How could I forget that one! Loved his setup when he broke in.

Not necessarily a “favorite” but I don’t think I’ll ever forget Joe Pesci getting beaten to death in Casino. Man, I can hear the aluminum baseball bats ringing now.

Just remembered this one which was pretty cool. Of course the dramatic effect/surprise is gone since it’s in this thread. lol

Wasn't able to grab a film clip, but one of the very best I ever saw was from the Netflix series "Bodyguard." It's a British series. Episode 2.

Goodfellas when Joe Pesci get taken into the basement to "get made" and realizes he is about to whacked and he just has enough time to mumble "oh no...!"
