I tried PoE but was turned off by the rapid turnaround of seasons. Never bothered with the sequel. Last Epoch, on the other hand, has been pretty awesome.

I never played POE. I have played lots of Grim Dawn, same action RPG style game. I haven't created a character for season play yet. I have several characters through the campaign, and all just starting cruel. I have 1 character at endgame. LE gets good reviews but I couldn't get into it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
