I am surprised this movie was even released considering the political climate but I am glad it was. It covers one of the first reporters to uncover the Holomodor and deals specifically with the area close to my wife's hometown of Khariv UA. Interesting how it shows how the media of the time tried to cover it up. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holodomor https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...th_Jones_(journalist) I did not realize it was a true story until after my wife and I watched it. My wife's paternal Grandmother was a child during the Holomodor and my wife speaks of how she was different as she almost starved as she could not eat what the others would eat ...rats, dogs, birch bark, saw dust bread. The movie can be hard to watch at times but well worth it. Those hard moments (children becoming cannibals) are well documented as actually happening. | ||
