For years every day I would get the local fishwrap, the first thing I would look for is
Garys comic. I bought several of his softside books and cut out many of my favorites, and
they're hung up all over my garage. I even bought his yearly calendars with a new comic
every day. Anybody else miss The Far Side?

I had completely forgotten about the Far Side. Yes, I do miss it for certain.

Well, yes, but it has been gone for what . . . 25 years?

well, yes, but I guess I'm showing my age!!

And I still buy newspapers.

The comic captured my sense of humor perfectly. I too purchased the calendar and many of the books. I thought it was great. No comic has ever come close to being that good. A funny comic can make you smile. The Far Side often got a full on laugh out of me.

5 panels every weekday / 2 panels every weekend day / a weekly collection, and occasionally some honest-to-goodness new stuff.

I loved the Far Side. I have four of the books, there is some funny shit in there. Another great one was Calvin and Hobbes.

The Far Side and Bloom County were the only reasons to read the newspaper there for a time.
