For years every day I would get the local fishwrap, the first thing I would look for is
Garys comic. I bought several of his softside books and cut out many of my favorites, and
they're hung up all over my garage. I even bought his yearly calendars with a new comic
every day. Anybody else miss The Far Side?

Well, yes, but it has been gone for what . . . 25 years?

The fish is mute, expressionless. The fish doesn't think because the fish knows everything.

The comic captured my sense of humor perfectly. I too purchased the calendar and many of the books. I thought it was great. No comic has ever come close to being that good. A funny comic can make you smile. The Far Side often got a full on laugh out of me.

Yes... and no.

The Far Side

5 panels every weekday / 2 panels every weekend day / a weekly collection, and occasionally some honest-to-goodness new stuff.

**Edited to add - I gotta type faster.** NOCkid beat me to it.

I loved the Far Side. I have four of the books, there is some funny shit in there. Another great one was Calvin and Hobbes.

The Far Side and Bloom County were the only reasons to read the newspaper there for a time.

'For god's sake hurry driver. She's dropping babies all over the place'

The passenger says to the terrified cab driver while holding up a big snake.

Still have that one on my fridge. The best

I still pull out some old paperback collections of “The Far Side” and enjoy them. Learning about this website is a bonus!
