The over-swing of the diversity/representative pendulum continues...forced, hamfisted, clumsy and amateurish casting directors.

Same thing for the LGBT community. Every commercial has to have at least one of these two oppressed groups in it. No one's life, liberty or property is safe while the legislature is in session.- Mark Twain

Well generally she buys the car whether she's black or white from what I gather. Set the controls for the heart of the Sun.

Peace through superior firepower |
I wish white male members of SAG would sue the shit out of the ad agencies responsible for the casting of these commercials. The evidence that they are being discriminated against is overwhelming. It's blatant and open sexism and racism. And when white men do show up in commercials, they're always the asshole.

Or the white man is a complete dipshit. I remember one years ago as I don’t watch them unless at someone’s house. One was a Progressive commercial for motorcycle insurance. It depicts a father, out riding his cruiser type motorcycle. The bike breaks down, and Mommy comes to the save the day in some sort of SUV. She says “Daddy just had to buy a motorcycle” and they show him sitting there like an absolute dipshit. She’s running the show. Then another was a Best Buy commercial. Man and woman enters store. Upon entering store, the man makes a childish noise and sprints off the some aisle like a child entering their first Toys R Us in the 1980’s. And that was before all this diversity crap. What am I doing? I'm talking to an empty telephone

It's called the Homer Simpson Syndrome. Ever since the Simpson's debut, the leading male figure in a program, particularly if it's a white-male, is overwhelmingly a moron. Show's from the 70-80-90's, the male/father-figure was equally as caring, nurturing and assertive as the wife: Family Ties, Cosby Show, Wonder Years, Good Times, Alice, Growing Pains, Rosanne, Home Improvement. Oh sure there was the gag moment but, the character wasn't a complete dumb fuck, the hen-pecking was kept to a minimum and the kids looked up to him. Since the Simpson's, the male lead or, one of the main males characters in any comedy, is portrayed as being an offish, fool, a complete dipshit or, just generally offensive....Malcolm in the Middle, That 70's Show, Family Guy, American Dad, Modern Family, Downton Abbey and THEN there's how Disney and Nickelodeon portray fathers and male leads in their programs. I enjoy good comedy and some of it is mindless however, it's getting pretty old to see depictions that just aren't relatable or, accurate, be it a comedy or, cop-legal drama.

His diet consists of black coffee, and sarcasm. |
The Corona beer commercials with Snoop Dogg came to mind immediately. However, I am OK with black peoples' positive portrayals in most commercials, for example, doing wholesome activities as families - something sorely lacking in that community.
