Was anyone else underwhelmed by last night's episode? I expected Rick and Michonne would find Enid & Khorl's roller skates. I know the writers have to set up the battle with the Saviors, but I prefer a little less talk and a lot more action.

Last night stunk, one of the worst episodes ever. I've been expecting one like this as Rick got his ducks in a row. I did kinda like Father Gabriel trying to straighten out Rosita to no avail. Looks like Carol is back next week with a twist in her panties. Set the controls for the heart of the Sun.

Definitely a snoozer last night. I started getting preoccupied with other things as I watched it. At least next week it looks like Carol is being reactivated. ~Alan Acta Non Verba NRA Life Member (Patron) God, Family, Guns, Country Men will fight and die to protect women... because women protect everything else. ~Andrew Klavan

Awful episode last night. They need to find a whole bunch of guns....Hey, guess what....here's a whole field full of walkers carrying guns that no one has ever found before - plus a whole bunch of non-perishable food. A little too convenient if you ask me. And I get that Michonne wouldn't have known that the walkers were eating the deer and not Rick, so her reaction is understandable. Still, from the viewers' perspective, it was so plain to see that Rick was safe that it made the scene seem rather silly to me. Not only do we know they aren't going to kill off Rick, but they made the set-up so in-your-face obvious. And I am still baffled why Jadis, who presumably was a functioning, English-speaking person in the pre-apocalypse era, now talks like a Star Trek character from a different galaxy.

I've adopted an 80/20 strategy when watching this show. Fast forward through 80 percent and catch the important 20 percent. The rest is just filler and I don't ever feel like I've missed anything. "Pickin' stones and pullin' teats is a hard way to make a living. But, sure as God's got sandals, it beats fightin' dudes with treasure trails." "We've been tricked, we've been backstabbed, and we've been quite possibly, bamboozled."

This one fell pretty flat, lol. It always amazes me that the pistols and rifles never rust after sitting in the elements for 2+ years. I got to see another AR without a front site. I feel like the writers aren't even trying any more with the dialogue. The show has its ebbs and flows so I hope it picks up soon. These filler episodes suck. What was with all the brass and then Rick saying saying in a humble voice "There was a big battle here." And what's with the walker who can put his finger on the trigger? With a full mag even.
|
eh-TEE-oh-clez |
The gun's trigger got caught on some sticks or something, and the walker trying to walk past the sticks caused the guns to fire off.

This writer shares our VERY low opinion of Sunday's episode: https://www.forbes.com/sites/e...e-deer/#4ea075717edc

He sure does hate that deer. Rant aside, he's not wrong. Only the most epic war with the Saviors will save this season. Carol is coming back at the right time. The show is at it's best when most of the core group is together. The writers seem to sneak in too much stupid when it's a 1 or 2 character episode.

Well, that episode was mighty awful. Awful plot. Awful dialogue. Awful special effects. Awfully convenient premise.

WOW....several days have passed and no comments about Sunday's episode. Guess this show is really tanking in our group. A PTSD Morgan episode where he struggles (still) with taking life. Guess he snapped on that. What more needs to be said. And the sneak peek for next week's episode reveals a couple of the girls rife with the stupid. I think I continue watching this show because I've convinced myself I have nothing beter to do... "If you’re a leader, you lead the way. Not just on the easy ones; you take the tough ones too…” – MAJ Richard D. Winters (1918-2011), E Company, 2nd Battalion, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne "Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil... Therefore, as tongues of fire lick up straw and as dry grass sinks down in the flames, so their roots will decay and their flowers blow away like dust; for they have rejected the law of the Lord Almighty and spurned the word of the Holy One of Israel." - Isaiah 5:20,24

Not that much better than the previous episode and all pretty much predictable. And yeah, I've got too much time in not to keep watching but I just know, sooner or later, this show will go away in a most unsatisfactory fashion. How could it be otherwise? Set the controls for the heart of the Sun.

Can't be worse than the last of Dexter. Not a terrible episode this week, but predictable, as mentioned. The Enemy's gate is down.

Very predictable, Carol and Morgan and the Kingdom, had to get on board before the war begins, this season has been and continues to be all Fluff. I am only still watching cause the woman still loves the show, and after reading the novels I know what the series can/could/should be so I still have a little hope that we get a good episode or 2 before it fizzles out. There will be whores, tits and sex.

Nah, not for me. I'm still watching and interested in the show. Just didn't fell any need to comment. ~Alan Acta Non Verba NRA Life Member (Patron) God, Family, Guns, Country Men will fight and die to protect women... because women protect everything else. ~Andrew Klavan

I'm kind of in the same boat. That and I also have pretty serious "completion issues" when it comes to finishing a series. The show is at its worst when they stray too far from or get too cute with the comic story line. Daryl might be the only good thing to come from the show writers' "creativity." I do still like the zombies, and enjoy watching the SFX guys have fun.

Same here. I did check after the show whether the thread was updated. In the Talking Dead show, they made a big deal of Morgan's acting ability and I suppose I can agree with that. Looking back on the scenes, he did effectively convey the angst he was going through and the PTSD. It was just strange that all they had to load was 12 melons. I suppose that was to make it easier to count. I like the part of the story where the king's guy was willing to sacrifice himeself just to start something. It's more than just a single layer of character; a bit more complex. "It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.
