Makes me wonder if the Transformers Movie Series (Michael Bay version) is worth getting the 1st 5 collection in 4k is $45. I really liked the 1st and the 2nd was decent. Never got around to seeing the rest. ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad. If we got each other, and that's all we have. I will be your brother, and I'll hold your hand. Age of Extinction and--especially--Last Knight are the only ones I advise you not buy. Out of the first three, I actually like the third, Dark of the Moon, the most. I swear I had something for this |
I went to see The Abyss last night. AMC lets you prepay your tickets online AND let's you pre-order concessions so I skipped past every line. This was also a Dolby Cinema screening so the comfy recliners (which helped with a 3 hour movie), full Atmos, and upgraded projectors on a screen 2 stories tall really puts you in the movie without the vomit inducing 3D. The theater was half full with all the center seats sold out, but still left you with plenty of space. As far as the movie, it was AMAZING! I never saw The Abyss before, but coming in with little knowledge (besides the Production Hell) and approaching it like a new movie was mind blowing. The 4K remaster is incredibly beautiful, and all of the underwater scenes look far better than the Aquaman sequel in the ads before the movie. It looks real because it is real. You also believed the dangers of working underwater without any hint of immersion breaking. You also go through a complete rollercoaster of emotions with the people on the rig that I haven't experienced at the theater in a long time. I would like to think that a movie like this could never be made today, but it's a James Cameron film and he gets away with anything he wants because he prints almost as much money as Congress. What sucks is I'm probably going to double dip and buy this on Digital on Tuesday and on Disk in March. I can wait on Aliens and True Lies. | |||
