Sly Stone dead at 82
Apparently died from COPD and other respiratory issues, but the guy was a lifelong coke/crack addict until six years ago. I'm surprised he lived this long. But in the late 60s-early 70s, he revolutionized black rock music by being one of the first to incorporate an entire musical band. And his band were awesome players, he had some excellent hit songs, I had a few of them on 45s as a kid.

S&FS were at the heart of the soundtrack of the 60's becoming the 70's. Best as I could tell, everyone loved Sly and the Family Stone. Good times.

You can tell it's the early 70s by those Afros. Big Grin Dig the one on the keyboardist.

Loved Sly and the Family Stone. Yeah, perhaps not a great role model, but man that funk music!! My sister turned me on to them in 1968 - I was 11 -. I might have danced like a monkey on crack, but it's so infectious........
