IF you enjoyed it, you should search YouTube for the production video.

They talk about how they made the action more realistic and how they had the animators take sword fighting lessons so they'd understand the real movement better.

They go over several scenes in the movie and how they were worked out in a dojo first

Yup this movie wasn't originally Japanese. While the production staff are Asian, English isn't their second language

Possible Spoilers

Could someone please explain to my why, on the last episode, they decided to have the invading army stop at a bridge that goes over a moat, which is in front of a closed gate, shoot the sword-weilding guys on the bridge, only to then proceed to march over the bridge, which is now connected to a wide-open gate?

It's a demonstration of power...to taunt the royal guards

Sure, okay the guys in the walls surrounding the gate, by the moat, shot their arrows and couldn't make the distance to the army. Sure, okay maybe some of them died by their slits, but wtf. Who opened the gate? No archers were still shooting as the army marched forward?

you're supposed to understand that all the archers have been shot.

The gate wasn't barred/closed because the royal guards expected to be able to repel the invaders. They hadn't gone up against guns before and the soldiers wielding the guns weren't Samurai

It was closed when they pulled away for the money shot of the army at the moat. That's what I meant to say anyway.

It's okay. I can't change it, although I would have before they animated it. Smile

Yes, I am admittedly geeked out over this show, but I found this on YouTube today. A ‘special’ version of episode 6 with an alternate soundtrack.

Enjoy!

Never really gotten into anime but I loved this show. The fight choreography seemed like really well done!
