As much as I love this movie, it is even better on a 60" TV with a surround sound.

WOW!!!! I feel like I am there.

Can't remember the last time I've watched it.

I'll have to dig out my copy and watch it over the weekend...

Your next step should be Le Mans. If you're up to it, Days of Thunder is a great one. Tony Scott really was a head of his time and the majority of his huge, bulky setups have now been turned into default camera mounts in today's racing. Just skip the middle of the film where it gets all soapy...

Grand Prix was an absolute game changer at the time it was done. Even today, short of the soap opera stuff, it's still a great car movie.

doesn't mean you should

LeMans had some great old cars but I never thought the plot was much to get excited about.
Grand Prix was a lot more interesting and had great car stuff, considering when it was made.

"Steve McQueen takes a drive in the country. The country is France. The drive is at 200 mph."

Saw it a few months after it came out and loved it because I'd just been to Watkin's Glen for a 6 hour enduro with the Gulf Porsche 917s.
