Yeah.

Anyone with real and relevant information is not going to "disclose".

Anyone that does "disclose" is, lying, wanting money, trying to make a name for themselves, or is the debil.

In other words, the first thing I said...

The Visitors are our friends.

Also I am pretty sure they just want to talk to us about our car warranty.

Chris Gore from Film Threat got to see a screener of it and his comments enough aren't worth the trouble.

He also says Spielberg pussied out like a bitch by avoiding Islam in his view at religion and the movie ends basically giving the audience blue balls.

So I am Christian in my belief system, but when I think about the creator of the heavens and the earth I kind of just assume that God created EVERYTHING and should that everything include angels or alien species I am ok with that. It doesn’t break my belief structure or some such bullshit. If anything it makes it stronger.

It seems obvious to me that God is the universe itself and everything within and behind it, -- or if that's not the correct word, better stated perhaps: Everything. And quantum mechanics, mathematics, gravity and time itself, all of these things that we think we loosely understand but can't quite get to the ends of the answers for just strengthen my belief in God.

If there are beings from elsewhere and they turn out to be his angels, or just other beings he created, so be it. I am not shaken, but only strengthened in my belief.

Everything that is written in the Bible is filtered through the perceptions of people from thousands of years ago, and in so, simplified to the extent that modern people (speaking for my younger self) have a hard time finding connection to them. A revelation that reveals data points or evidence that exist within more modern areas of scientific understanding would be a game changer for our modern world.

Until then, my faith will bridge that gap. And it does so with the firm conclusion that they are entirely related. I think an easy logical step.

Now, as for the movie. I'll stream it someday. I'm not going to sit in a filthy theater and listen to candy wrappers while trying to enjoy it. Guessing by September it'll be on Prime for $4.99. Cool

I really don't see any kind of challenge to one's Christian faith that there might be more advanced races somewhere out there. So can't agree with Mr. Spielberg that this movie will necessarily change a true believer's whole belief system. It may widen it, but challenge it I don't think.

Just saw it. Spielberg's comments about his own movie not withstanding, I enjoyed the film. It's got a Close Encounters with techno-drama vibe to it, with random people being psychically drawn to a single event point, where all will be revealed. In fact the one main criticism of the movie for me is that it didn't really cover any new ground that his previous film didn't already go over so many decades before.

The story is well-paced and consistent, good acting and direction. Plenty of "Spielberg moments", no surprise there. You can enjoy the movie outside of any religious themes, if you like.

Just keep in mind the difference between a "Supreme Being" and a more advanced being than us. The Universe is surely big enough to accomodate all of the above.

There's a Babylon Bee headline right now that says:

I went to watch it and I can say the popcorn was really good. The theater I like has a new flavor of sweet and cheesy popcorn, well worth the cost of the bland movie.

As usual, the left is trying to replace God with questionable “science”. Spielberg should make an actual reality based movie where aliens never visit because physics (as in ACTUAL science) make travel here almost impossible to accomplish due to distance, location, and limitations on speed.

I thought it was boring as hell, with one very ham fisted attempt at questioning faith that went nowhere.

............. Move plot discussion

The whole WW3 thing wasn't explained at all, as was the lame reason why he couldn't just load it all to the internet. A weak version of ET and Close Encounters.
