Free men do not ask permission to bear arms |
What films are so noir once was enough? Mine: 1. No Country for Old Men. 2. Clockwork Orange. 3. One Flew over The Cookoo's nest. 4. The Road. A gun in the hand is worth more than ten policemen on the phone. The American Revolution was carried out by a group of gun toting religious zealots.

The Elephant Man. David Lynch did a brilliant job, but I can't watch it a 2nd time. Despite Jane Fonda, I liked They Shoot Horses Don't They?, but once was enough. Same with Leaving Las Vegas. I have The Road in my DVD cabinet, I have yet to watch it (I read the book). I saw that in the theater when it first came out and it gave me nightmares. Most of the people leaving after the film where walking fast and looking straight ahead. When a thing is funny, search it carefully for a hidden truth. - George Bernard Shaw

It seems some British movie fans felt differently about "Clockwork Orange" and threatened Stanley Kubrick's life. The movie was pulled from distribution in England. I found the movie interesting and compare it with today's view on crime and punishment in this country. ********* "Some people are alive today because it's against the law to kill them".
