This show is up there with MASH, Newhart, Home Improvement and a few others IMHO. Lots of talent over 9 years. Well written and acted. My favorite is Kyle by a nose. Not as lean, not as mean, Still a Marine |
I think the first Mandy was the silent star of series. She wasn't a "main character" of many episodes, but her timing and believability of the character gave good comedic value, while still being able to play other aspects to give the role feeling and depth (at times). The new Mandy just wasn't the same, and it stuck out like a sore thumb. I didn't mind the Kristen/Boyd switch nearly as much as the Mandy switch. I shall respect you until you open your mouth, from that point on, you must earn it yourself.

Nullus Anxietas |
I think it's a toss-up between the original Mandy, and Eve. As for the series finale: It's just as well. This last season has been almost painful to watch at times "America is at that awkward stage. It's too late to work within the system,,,, but too early to shoot the bastards." -- Claire Wolfe "If we let things terrify us, life will not be worth living." -- Seneca the Younger, Roman Stoic philosopher

I will watch Nancy Travis in anything. With or without the sound. You talk about a saucey mint. Or in Letterkenny she would be referred to as a rocket. _________________________ OH, Bonnie McMurray!

Crusty old curmudgeon |
Yep, I got burned out with the last season. I only watched 1 or 2 this year. Jim ________________________ "If you can't be a good example, then you'll have to be a horrible warning" -Catherine Aird

I quit watching when the new Mandy came in. That was just too jarring a change. I'd have to say Nancy Travis was my favorite.

Unapologetic Old School Curmudgeon |
Very weak finale, it was time to say good bye Don't weep for the stupid, or you will be crying all day

Move Up or Move Over |
The first time I saw her in something other than Justified I about fell over realizing she'd acted that accent. Such talent at such a young age...

Too soon old, Too late smart |
She's hot, no question. She's opposite Michael Douglas in The Kominsky Method. New season coming soon on Netflix. _______________________________________ NRA Life Member Member Isaac Walton League I wouldn't let anyone do to me what I've done to myself

Ignored facts still exist |
I watched the final episode. It seemed rather "meh" to me. It didn't seem like any kind of finale which provided any type of closure on anything. But I've not watched the snow in like 5 years, so maybe that made it more difficult to appreciate. .

Get my pies outta the oven! |
Yes, I was very underwhelmed While I’m glad they got another shot at a few more years with Fox after ABC cancelled them, it was never the same again. The politics and the jokes got way watered down, the new Mandy was such a dingbat and just horrible and replacing Eve with Jen was a desperation move. Did anyone notice the girl who played Kristin kept getting bigger and bigger and bigger? Must have been some sort of health issue as she was huge by the final episode.

Purveyor of Fine Avatars |
I'm still making my way through the season--currently on episode 15 or something--and it seems like this season is more to showcase all the other actors and less about Allen/Baxter. No political humor at all. Gone to the Dogs |
When Mandy changed and Eve left it definately lost its greatness. Eve was my favorite along with Mike of course. I haven’t seen them all just late night repeats after my shift. The early shows are great IMO. I need to binge watch the whole thing if I can get my wife into it. She loves Nancy Travis from watching her in kominski, so maybe I can get her to watch it.This message has been edited. Last edited by: tomgun,
