I know the Bruce haters are rampant here, but his first three albums before he got thoughtful, moody and went full SJW have some great songs.

^^^ Good tune, but I have to take issue with the first three being the best. IMO, The River was his best, hands down, with Darkness On The Edge Of Town being a close second. We all have our own tastes I suppose.

Never said they were best, just that there were some great songs for songs sake without the social messaging.

Poco. One of the most vocally strong bands—ever. You can do so much with a voice like Timothy B Schmit’s

I can't believe nobody's has said ELO's Mr. Blue Sky from the Out of the Blue album 1977. Enjoy this clip, although it's from the opening scene of Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2.

I was listening to Joe Rogan this morning, and he was talking about ideas and where they come from. The creative process whether it be a song, or a book, or a comedy sketch, and “The Muse.” A concept that he’s come to embrace.
I’ve been fascinated by this Jagger/Richards song from the first time I heard it many winters ago. Rogan’s words about The Muse and the creative process brought “Sympathy for the Devil” back to me again.
Whether or not you like the Rolling Stones. Specifically, whether or not you like this song. I just think the concept of the song and the final product is incredible. When I think of music that makes me think to myself, “How did they come up with that?!?” This is the first song that comes to mind. Maybe it was The Muse.

Jagger was influenced in writing "Sympathy for the Devil" by the book "The Master and Margarita" by Mikhail Bulganov. This book was banned in the USSR for many years. I read it sometime in the late 1960s.

Im sorry if I posted these before, I searched this thread and couldn’t find if I had. Not good on linking YouTube but a quick search and these will pop up.
Velvelettes: Needle In A Haystack The Steelers: Get It From The Bottom (of your heart) Bob Seger And The Last Heard: Heavy Music Part 1 and Part 2. Listen to those back to back, some subtle and not so subtle differences. I especially like towards the end of Part 2, the line “NSU (a call out to Cream), SRC,(callout to Scott Richard Case, Detroit area band with their version of “I’m So Glad” as they had changed the bands name to SRC), and the admonishment “Stevie Winwood’s got nothin on me!” Free: All Right Now Rolling Stones: Out Of Time
There’s a lot more but these are a start.

^^^ That reminded me of this:
And Steve Marriott was way under-rated.
And The Real Me is one of the best Who songs and one of my personal favorites.
